praisescience asked: Your mantra is that health and education come first and that the rest will follow. This is an intuitive approach - it makes sense. Do you have any research backing this up? None that I've seen. Google Jay W. Forrester, "Counterintuitive Behavior of Social Systems" since I can't include a link. Please, for the love of America, stop trying to boil down the most complex systems in the world into retweetable, rhetorical garbage. You're making scores of people dumber. Thank you.

I want people to be ALLOWED to pay a monthly premium for their own health insurance, regardless of if they have preexisting conditions. I want schools to have wider curriculum and not “teach to the test” and for college to cost less. I am not “boiling down”; I am positing that these are the FIRST STEPS, only AFTER WHICH greater and more substantive changes can be made by people much smarter than me. There’s a very big difference between me saying “Here are the absolute first steps on the path” and anyone suggesting that the Affordable Care Act and whatever comes after No Child Left Behind will fix everything in our country like magic. Fuck magic. I preach pragmatism.
